First Conditional exercises on Android и iOS

Pattern: If + Present Simplewill + V. Use when the condition can realistically be fulfilled in the future.

How it’s formed

  • Condition (if‑clause): Present Simple — If it rains
  • Main clause (result): will + VI will stay at home
If it rains, I will stay at home.
If it rains, I will stay at home.

Clause order

You can swap the two parts. If the if‑clause comes first, use a comma.

If you study, you will pass.
You will pass if you study.

Negation and questions

  • Negation: If he doesn’t call, I won’t go.
  • Question: What will you do if it snows?

Other ways we use it

  • Imperative in the result clause: If you feel tired, have a rest.
  • can/may/might/should instead of will: If it’s late, we should take a taxi.
  • With temporal conjunctions instead of if: when, as soon as, unless.

Common mistakes

❌ If it will rain, we will cancel. ✅ If it rains, we will cancel.
❌ I won’t come if he won’t call. ✅ I won’t come if he doesn’t call.
❌ Comma always: You will pass, if you study. ✅ Comma only if the if‑clause comes first.
