Superlatives usamos

Usamos superlativos para descrever o grau mais alto ou mais baixo de uma qualidade em um grupo. Eles mostram que uma pessoa, coisa ou lugar se destaca acima de todos os outros: o mais alto, o mais interessante, o melhor, o menos caro.

Geralmente usamos superlativos ao comparar três ou mais pessoas ou coisas, ou quando o grupo está claro pelo contexto.

Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world.
O Monte Everest é a montanha mais alta do mundo.
This is the most useful feature in the app.
Este é o recurso mais útil do aplicativo.
Who is the oldest person in your family?
Quem é a pessoa mais velha da sua família?

Superlatives Forma

Os superlativos são formados de maneiras diferentes, dependendo do adjetivo. Adjetivos curtos geralmente recebem -est, enquanto adjetivos mais longos geralmente usam the most. Algumas formas são irregulares.

short adjective → the + adjective + -est
long adjective → the most + adjective
opposite meaning → the least + adjective

Superlatives Regra

  • Normalmente usamos o antes de um adjetivo superlativo.
    She is the smartest student in the class.
    Ela é a aluna mais inteligente da turma.
  • Use in antes de lugares, turmas, equipes, cidades, países e grupos semelhantes. Use of antes de números, pronomes ou expressões como the three, them, all.
    He is the fastest runner in the team.
    Ele é o corredor mais rápido da equipe.
    She is the oldest of the three sisters.
    Ela é a mais velha das três irmãs.
  • Depois de one of the, usamos um superlativo + substantivo no plural.
    This is one of the best books I have ever read.
    Este é um dos melhores livros que já li.
  • Os superlativos são muito comuns com experiências de vida: o melhor / o pior / o mais interessante ... que eu já ...
    It was the best concert I have ever been to.
    Foi o melhor concerto a que já fui.
  • Depois dos superlativos, usamos frequentemente uma oração relativa com that ou which.
    This is the funniest video that I have seen this month.
    Este é o vídeo mais engraçado que vi este mês.
  • Alguns adjetivos de duas sílabas podem variar no uso real. Para um conteúdo mais acessível aos alunos, é melhor escolher uma forma padrão e manter a consistência ao longo de toda a lição.
