  • There is sa používa s podstatným menom v jednotnom čísle a there are sa používa s podstatným menom v množnom čísle.

  • Pri nepočítateľných podstatných menách zvyčajne používame there is.

  • Ak po štruktúre nasleduje zoznam, sloveso sa často zhoduje s prvým podstatným menom v zozname.
