Past Simple koristimo

Past Simple koristi se za završene radnje u prošlosti, često uz završeno vremensko određenje (jučer, prošli tjedan, 2019. godine).

I finished the task yesterday.
Jučer sam završio zadatak.

Past Simple Oblik

Subject + V2 / V-ed.

She worked late.
Radila je do kasno.
They went home early.
Otišli su kući rano.

Past Simple Pravilo

  • Često koristimo oznake prošlog vremena:
    jučer, prošlog tjedna, 2019., prije dva dana
    We met last week.
    Sreli smo se prošli tjedan.
    He called two hours ago.
    Nazvao je prije dva sata.
  • Za pravilne glagole dodajemo -ed (uz nekoliko pravopisnih pravila).
    work → worked, play → played
    like → liked, stop → stopped, study → studied
  • Pravopisna pravila:
    • Ako glagol završava na -e, dodajte samo -d (like → liked).
    • Ako glagol završava na suglasnik + -y, promijeni y u i i dodaj -ed (study → studied).
    • Ako jednosložni glagol završava na suglasnik–samoglasnik–suglasnik, udvostručite završni suglasnik (stop → stopped).
  • Nepravilni glagoli imaju poseban oblik V2:
    go → went, buy → bought
    I bought a new phone.
    Kupio sam novi telefon.
    They went to the office.
    Otišli su u ured.
  • Glagol biti u jednostavnom prošlom vremenu: was / were
    I was tired.
    Bio sam umoran.
    They were at home.
    Bili su kod kuće.

Past Simple Nijekanje

  • Kod većine glagola koristimo didn't + V1 (glagol ostaje u osnovnom obliku nakon didn't).
    ✅ I didn't go there.
    ❌ I didn't went there.
    She didn't answer the message.
    Nije odgovorila na poruku.
  • Uz be koristimo wasn't / weren't.
    He wasn't ready.
    Nije bio spreman.
    We weren't in the meeting.
    Nismo bili na sastanku.

Past Simple Pitanja

U pitanjima s većinom glagola upotrebljavamo did + V1; s glagolom be koristimo inverziju (was/were ispred subjekta).

Did + subject + V?
Wh-word + did + subject + V?
Was / Were + subject ...?

Did you finish the report?
Jesi li završio izvješće?
Where did they meet?
Gdje su se upoznali?
Why did she leave early?
Zašto je otišla ranije?
Was he at home yesterday?
Je li jučer bio kod kuće?
Were you busy last night?
Jesi li sinoć bio zauzet?

❌ I didn't went to work.
✅ I didn't go to work.

❌ She did a mistake yesterday.

Past Simple Rečenice

Yesterday I finished the report and sent it to my manager.
Jučer sam dovršio izvješće i poslao ga svom voditelju.
Last week we visited a new restaurant near the office.
Prošli tjedan posjetili smo novi restoran blizu ureda.
She bought a new laptop two days ago.
Kupila je novo prijenosno računalo prije dva dana.
He called me in the evening and asked about the meeting.
Nazvao me navečer i pitao za sastanak.
They moved to a new apartment last month.
Preselili su se u novi stan prošlog mjeseca.
We watched an interesting documentary yesterday.
Jučer smo gledali zanimljiv dokumentarac.
I forgot my password and couldn't log in.
Zaboravio sam lozinku i nisam se mogao prijaviti.
She finished the project earlier than expected.
Završila je projekt ranije nego što se očekivalo.
He missed the bus and arrived late for work.
Propustio je autobus i zakasnio na posao.
We met our old friends during the conference.
Sreli smo naše stare prijatelje tijekom konferencije.

Past Simple Primjeri

I woke up early and went for a short walk.
Probudio sam se rano i otišao u kratku šetnju.
She forgot her phone at home and came back to get it.
Zaboravila je mobitel kod kuće i vratila se po njega.
They finished the task and started a new project.
Završili su zadatak i započeli novi projekt.
We discussed the problem and found a simple solution.
Raspravili smo problem i pronašli jednostavno rješenje.
He opened the email and read the message carefully.
Otvorio je e-poštu i pažljivo pročitao poruku.
I tried the new app and liked its design.
Isprobao sam novu aplikaciju i svidio mi se njezin dizajn.
She arrived late but quickly joined the meeting.
Stigla je kasno, ali se brzo pridružila sastanku.
We booked the tickets online and printed them at home.
Rezervirali smo karte putem interneta i ispisali ih kod kuće.
He checked the code and fixed several small bugs.
Provjerio je kôd i ispravio nekoliko manjih grešaka.
They organized a small party and invited their friends.
