Be going to は、意図や計画、またはすでにそう考えるための証拠や明確な理由があるために起こりそうなことについて話すときに使われます。

この構文は、動詞 be + going to + 動詞の原形（V1）で形成されます。
Subject + am / is / are + going to + V1

Be going to は、話す時点より前にすでに決定されている場合の予定や意図を表すためによく使われます。
I am going to visit my grandmother this weekend.

また、何かがまもなく起こりそうだと見たり、聞いたり、理解したりできるとき、現在の証拠に基づく予測にも使われます。

be going to と will は、常に入れ替えて使えるわけではありません。
be going to は、あらかじめある計画や目に見える根拠を強調することが多く、
一方で will は、その場での決定、約束、または中立的な予測により一般的に使われます。
